Before registering for the Erase Indifference Challenge (hereinafter referred to as “Competition”) organized by the Auschwitz Pledge Foundation, available at the following addresses — eraseindifference.org and auschwitzpledge.org, (hereinafter referred to as “Platform”), — and thereby participating in the competition, you provide us with personal data.

We attach great importance to the protection of your personal data and we care about your privacy. Your personal data processed in connection with the use of the Platform and in connection with the competition ‘Erase Indifference Challenge’, i.e.: name, surname and email address, will be processed in order and to the extent required to ensure the proper realization of the competition. All collected data will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 in on the protection of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation Data Protection, hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”).

Who is the Controller of your personal information?

The Controller of your personal data is the Auschwitz Pledge Foundation with its registered office in Warsaw,Mokotowska 56/9, 00-534 Warsaw.

Data Protection Officer

The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted in all matters related to the processing of personal data and the exercise of rights by data subjects under the GDPR, at the email address iod@auschwitzpledge.org.

 

For what purposes, on what basis and for how long do we process your personal data?

Your personal data will be processed on the bases of:

  • the legitimate interest of the Controller, i.e. the organization of the competition – registration of participants, carrying out competition, ensuring ongoing communication of the competition and all the activities related to its organization (Art 6.1.f GDPR)

  • the legal obligations to which the Controller is subject e.g. of providing financial calculations and financial reporting, including issuing and storing invoices (Art 6.1.c GDPR)

  • the legitimate interest of the Controller, i.e. pursuing claims for damages related to the organization of the competition (Art 6.1.f GDPR)

 

Who can we share your personal information with?

The information you provide in connection with the Erase Indifference Challenge will be available to the Auschwitz Pledge Foundation as responsible for the competition and Competition Committee of Indifference Challenge organized by the Auschwitz Pledge Foundation. Your personal data will be transferred outside the European Economic Area for the ‘Smarter Select’ service, which is provided by a US supplier. An adequate level of data protection is guaranteed in accordance with the concluded agreements and the existing regulations, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

 

What are the sources of your data?

To the extent that you take part in the Erase Indifference Challenge and thus you register and fill out an Application Form for the Competition, your data we obtain exclusively from you.

 

What are your rights?

You have the right to access to your personal data, to have the data rectified, deleted or to demand the limitation of their processing, as well as to object to the processing in the scope of art. 15-22 GDPR. If you wish to modify or delete any of your personal data, you should address your request in writing by email.

 

Withdrawal of consent for the processing of personal data

You may withdraw your consent at any time, which will not affect the lawfulness of the processing performed on the basis prior to its withdrawal. However, the withdrawal of consent will cause the deletion of your account and make it impossible to continue using the functionalities available on the Platform. You may withdraw your consent by writing to us at the address: info@auschwitzpledge.org.

 

Right to file a complaint

If you consider the processing of your personal data by the Data Controller as unlawful, you have the right to make a complaint to the supervisory body i.e. the President of the Data Protection Office, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.

 

Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy sets out the rules for the use of cookies by the website available at auschwitzpledge.org and eraseindifference.org (the “Platform”), which is operated by Auschwitz Pledge Foundation with its registered office in Warsaw, at Mokotowska 56/9, 00-534 Warsaw, entered into the National Court Register kept by the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw in Warsaw, XII Commercial Division of the National Court Register under number: KRS  0000828023, NIP: 7010971401, (“Administrator”).

The Cookie Policy is attached to and forms an integral part of this Privacy Policy. The Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy set out the rules for processing and protecting personal data in  connection with the use of the Platform.

 

Cookie Information

Cookies are IT data, in particular text files that are saved and stored on the Platform user’s end device (e.g. computer, smartphone, tablet) and enable subsequent identification of the user after a second visit to the Platform from the device on which they were saved. Cookies usually contain the name of the website from which they originate, the time they are stored on the end device and a unique number.

 

Why do we use cookies?

We use cookies for:

  • Functional, i.e. adjusting Platform content to user preferences and optimizing the use of the Platform, in particular for the recognition of the Platform’s device to recognize the Platform user’s device and to display Platform pages appropriately;

  • The creation of statistics to understand how the Platform is used and to improve the Platform’s structure and content.

 

Types of cookies used

Due to the time of use, there are two types of cookies used within the Platform:

  • Session files: Temporary files, stored on the user’s end device until you log out, leave the website or turn off the software (web browser);

  • Permanent: Cookie files that are stored on the user’s end device for time specified in the parameters of cookies or until they are deleted by the user.

With regard to the purpose of cookies, the Platform uses the following types of cookies:

  • Necessary: Necessary to ensure proper functioning of the Platform and the services available within the Platform;

  • Functional: Make it possible to collect information about the way the Platform is used and make it possible to remember the settings selected by the user and to personalize the interface user interface;

  • Statistical: Make it possible to learn how the Platform is used;

  • Advertising: Makes it possible to provide users with advertising content tailored to their interests; it also makes it possible to limit the number of advertisements displayed and to assess the effectiveness of advertising activities.

 

Other technological

In order to ensure convenience of use of the Platform we use Local Storage (LS) technology, similar in principle to cookies. LS is a separate part of the browser’s memory used to store data saved by the Platform. It can be accessed only by a website operating on the same site from which the data was saved, but unlike a cookie, it is not sent by the browser each time the server is accessed. Data in LS are stored long-term by your browser and are not deleted when you close your browser or have a specific expiration time. LS technology is used for the sole purpose of ensuring the highest level of services available within the Platform and does not enable identifying users.

 

Cookies

When you use the Platform, cookies may be stored on your terminal device, including cookies of third parties that cooperate with the Administrator.

To the extent that the Site uses essential cookies, that is, these types of cookies support the management and use of the Site by enabling basic functions such as site navigation and access to secure areas of the Site. Without these cookies, the Site cannot function properly. Your consent is not required for these cookies. The use of other cookies is only possible with your consent.

We collect only anonymous statistical data about users to improve the convenience of the service and minimize the nuisance of advertising.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
